Add password to PDF

Lock one PDF or a batch with open passwords. Each file can get its own current and new password; unencrypted files pass through. Single PDF or ZIP output.

Who this is for

Tax, legal, and operations teams sending sensitive PDFs to many recipients — each with a different password.

Example: a year-end pack of fifty client returns can be encrypted in one pass, each with its own client passphrase, and downloaded as one ZIP — no per-file save-as marathon.

FAQ

Can each PDF get a different password?

Yes. After uploading, every row in the table has its own new-password field. Use Apply to all to fill empty rows when many files share the same password.

What if some files are already encrypted?

Each row also has a current password field. Files that are not yet encrypted can leave it blank.

What if I don't want to add a password to one of the files?

Leave that file's new password field blank. The file is included unchanged in the output ZIP.

Do files stay local?

Yes. Processing runs in your browser, so your files stay on your device.
